About this blog and its author

I have been playing the guitar for 45 years, and participating in music has been a major focus in my entire life. I was a music major in college, and have BFA and MFA degrees in  music. I worked as a full-time, professional musican for nearly 20 years before economic realities forced a career change. A more lucrative career than music offered me has, ironically, provided the financial security, latitude and schedule flexibility to allow me to remain reasonably active as a musician, free to follow my interests.

I have self-released nine commercial CDs/albums, primarily in the genres of smooth jazz, fusion, and new age. All have sold — however modestly — all over the world, and have gotten some serious radio and internet airplay. All of my material is available for sale from Amazon, CDBaby, and from the major download sites like iTunes and Rhapsody.

The purpose of this blog is less about commerce and more about discovery — learning about the music that has shaped our world. As I research, arrange, and record, I plan to share some of what I learn on this journey in the world of classic popular music.

I remember a German language song played on 50’s era radio
“Morgan” may be the tilte. Am I right? I’d like to hear it again.

Sorry, I have no idea what song you are referring to.
