Another New Video: Here’s That Rainy Day

This is the next video with the new camera. The audio really isn’t quite as good as I would like…still need to work on that.

This is a straight-forward chord melody arrangement of the Jimmy Van Heusen standard, “Here’s That Rainy Day”. This beautiful tune has always been one of my favorites.

The guitar is a bit of an interesting story. They guy who made it is a long-ago former student. I got it in 2000. As far as I know, there are only three others in the world, as back problems forced him to give up guitar making. One is owned and used regularly by an excellent guitarist here in Pittsburgh, Eric Suesoff. Another is owned by an amateur in Nashville. I don’t actually know who has the last one.

It is essentially a Benedetto Fratello design., All solid woods, hand carved, tap-tuned, 25″ scale, 17″ body, x-braced. I chose the woods myself — German Spruce top, ebony fingerboard, maple everywhere else.

It’s really a nice sounding guitar; I wish the audio on the video did it a bit more justice.
