The Sounds of Silence

“The Sounds of Silence” was written by Paul Simon over a period of several months in 1963 and 1964. The version we know is actually a remix of the acoustic original, overdubbing electric instrumentation. Simon & Garfunkel were not informed of the song’s remix until after its release. It went on to top the charts in 1966.

My version is firmly in my anachronistic surf-rock vein, while trying to maintain some of the gravitas of the original.
