I’m Looking Through You
“I’m Looking Through You” was written by Paul McCartney ( and credited to Lennon-McCartney). The song first appeared on the 1965 album Rubber Soul. It was supposedly written about Jane Asher, McCartney’s girlfriend for five years. The line “You don’t look different, but you have changed” reflects his dissatisfaction with Asher and their relationship. The lyrics also reference his changing emotional state: “Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight”.
My instrumental arrangement is a bit bit more straight rock’n’roll and less country than the original.
